Both sides are too greedy. The owners want to get more than players because now the players are making too much with the 57% of revenue sharing that they got. But, obviously the players aren't gonna want to give up their huge chunk that they have from the previous aggreement. So yeah, theyre both stupid and greedy and should just get to a 50-50 agreement on revenue sharing so everyone can just shut the fuck up and play hockey

I think there's more to it than that, obviously the players feel that their services are worth a great deal, but i definitely think that they should give up a little more than they're comfortable with, especially if the want this revenue sharing program from the owners. Obviously I hate the owners too and give them more of the blame, but if the players really wanted to get back on the ice ASAP like they say, they'd negotiate and offer a counter proposal.

And it`s pretty retarded to hear players complaining about cuts to their profit. "OMG i am not going to make 7 million a year but only 6..." 95% of the world will never have that much money in lifetime yet alone in one year. They should think about that when they go on TV. Same could be said for owners.

Same is DEFINITELY true for owners. Sure players are making 6 mil...owners are making no less than 60. Players will always have the support of the fans. The owners need to constantly earn it. This is a moment where they will earn our support, or risk having us turn our backs on them.

But what percentage of players make 6 million a year? What about the 4th liners making $600,000 with no endorsement deals?

And i should feel sorry for someone who is not good at what he does and still earns a lot of money and complain about it? You have that kind of situations all over the world, people fighting for their jobs, but those people starve to death and these players are bitching because they can`t keep their Ferrari.

I know that owners have their share in this, hell if i was a player and somebody wanted to take part of my money i would be pissed. But as Hawks said, if they want to play hockey more that anything why they don`t just split it 50-50 and be done with it.

Well maybe the owners won't accept a 50/50 split. All we know is just speculation. And to all the people complaining about how the players shouldn't be complaining- If your boss hired you for x dollars, then told you later that he didn't want to pay you that much so you were going to take a pay cut, you'd be pissed too, no matter how much money it was. It's not the players fault that the owners decided to sign them to those lucrative deals, that is the owners fault and now the owners are trying to back their way out of it.

Mostly the owners. They won the last lockout straight up, but left loopholes that they then exploited to put themselves in the same position. And now they want their 24% back? Nah.

Mind you, you don't become a billionaire by not fucking people over. These guys will sit and wait, they know we are all coming back, happened once, will happen again.

The only bright spot is the fact that the Winter Classic this year will make so much money, I think they will try and get back in time to run it.
