The LA Kings have finally gotten their hands on the crown this past June. When they were crowned Stanley cup champions for the 1st time in franchise history. The Kings underachieved throughout the regular season; but, caught fire at the right time. This hot streak has continued on to the 2012-2013 season as the kings are leading the league with 37 points.
The start of the season looked shaky as Drew Doughty was lost to injury with a questionable hit by a St.Louis Blues player and Jonathan Quick was not playing to his standards in net. Quick was letting in very soft goals. However a strong shutout performance vs the redwings has everyone at ease for the moment.
There has been changes from top to bottom in the Kings Organization by the owner to negate the effect of a Stanley cup hangover and to reduce complacency in the organization. The new GM shares this philosophy as witnessed when he traded fan favorite and team captain Dustin Brown to the Philadelphia Flyers.
The LA Kings have finally gotten their hands on the crown this past June and they have no intentions of ever letting go!
